Version 1.1 update
Perimeter Breach Detected » Devlog
Hello all! As promised, here's a minor update to the ruleset containing feedback on the release edition. The changes are as follows:
- The foresight action that comes with the psychic feature is a standard, rather than intense, action and it can be used on any room, not just adjacent ones.
- The navigator's ability extends +1 extra room, if there is only one room adjacent to the command room.
- The body armour item functions like the tough bastard feature, allowing you to ignore 1 damage per round rather than just reducing all damage by 1, which is very overpowered.
- Clarified that the broken automaton item can be used on any special room on the map, and it can also remotely activate rooms, which'll be handy to help blow up power stations and activate turret points without risking yourself.
- Clarified that monsters are not affected by hazard rooms. This may change in a future update if I can figure out a way to rule this that I like. Suggestions welcome!
- Introduced a caveat for the open route movement preference: the monster avoids back-tracking. This removes the exploit of kiting monsters back and forth around the map by opening and placing barricades continually. I've also amended the behaviour of several monsters with this preference, like the hive, which means they smash barricades when they're adjacent to outsiders, so they don't walk right by barricaded rooms with outsiders in them in search of an entrance.
- The hunter monster doesn't drop a trap in their first round, because this was rarely placed in a room people needed to pass through.
- Added guidance for a facilitated play variant rule, to suggest a GM pre-determines the contents of rooms to reduce the amount of rolling during play.
That's all for now, please don't hesitate to get in touch if there's any improvements you'd recommend so far!
- Nathaniel
